ending the endless war

finger, bush
Live and Direct episode #6 is up. I attended the protest on Sunday and interviewed locals about activism and protesting, specifically regarding the ongoing war and the Bush administration's intent.

as [info]poeticdream said, I asked for callers and I seem to have gotten "the only pro-Bush Republican in Maine". Her quotes are priceless (for instance, I'm not sure how I'll see how great of a president Bush was after we've all been bombed to death...)

Here's the full quote from the caller:
I'm a Republican, and I think George Bush is the best president we've ever had, and this is all just a bunch of crap.

Let me just say: George Bush is only against slackers and sinners and terrorists, so if you don't like him, which one of the three are you?

Twenty years from now when they blow us all up, you'll remember that, and you'll say George Bush was a good president.

Live and Direct #2 ("Auddities") did not quite go off without a hitch. LD2 in fact, did not go off at all, unless you want to count the first 5 minutes or so of introduction. The short story? Possibly a bad mixer, possibly user error and misconfiguration. It seemed to be an intermittent problem, which is always annoying as hell to diagnose. I know how to make sure it works now, and I'll give it another try next wednesday at 6. My apologies to anyone listening tonight.

the incredible shrinking mp3

I just re-encoded my first show as a 22KHz MP3, making it 49.4MB (roughly half the size it was at first); I apologize if that's still too big for some people to download. Thanks for listening!

EDIT: [info]ravenstar poked and prodded me, and now there's a podcast, so go subscribe to it in itunes or odeo or whatever the cool kids are using these days.

hey hey i'm on the ray-dee-o!

m-m-m-max!
I had my first show today! It went well minus a little technical difficulty (dead air == bad). Thanks to my dad for recording the stream so I could easily convert it to mp3 and upload it for your downloading and listening pleasure. check it out here: Live and Direct #1 (74.1MB, 53:57).

It features my introduction, a song by Enigma, and a speech by Terence McKenna entitled "Culture and Ideology are not Your Friends". It's dedicated to [info]abigail_m, with a little surprise from her at the end.

As soon as I figure out how to do it, a podcast feed will be available. I will also work on reducing the file size for quicker downloads. Thanks for listening, and please share your thoughts.

20 minutes more into the future?

m-m-m-max!
due to home restoration issues (*cough*grease fire*cough*) and time/todo conflicts, i am skeptical about my first wrfr show happening this week. this pisses me off, especially in light of my recent announcement.

it might happen if i get insomniac tonight or tomorrow, though. here's hoping i can't sleep!
